What if you could measure everything using your body?
A bird sees an inch worm one day and is about to eat him when he says "I'm useful I measure things." The inch worm measured the bird's tail and the flamingo's neck and the toucan's beak, the heron's leg, the tail of a phesant and the whole hummingbird. This story is mostly about not to threaten people to do something that you want them to do. This book is about science and math; it is also a funny story. I recommend this book to people who like funny stories and want to learn about measurement.

Ant is excited but nervous when she is invited to Lion's annual dinner. But then she is disgusted when she gets to the party and the other animals are rude and greedy. When Lion passes a cake around. all the animals take big pieces, leaving none for Lion himself. Ant feels bad and offers to make him a new cake, but then the other animals all try to out-do her generosity. The entertaining story is set-up like an old-fashioned fable with fractions and multiplication thrown in. The illustrations really make the other animals look messy and rude. Librarian review

The United States has a lot of different forms of currency, or money, from the penny up to the $100 bill. How much is the money worth and how can you get some of it? This book describes each monetary unit, shows a nice picture of it, and describes what you can buy with it. Turn the page, and the penny is multiplied to the nickel, and its buying power is multiplied too. As the amount of money grows, the illustrator continues drawing pennies, nickels, and dimes so that you can see the pile of money growing and growing. Librarian review

A twist on the fairytale classic The Princess and the Pea, this book is sure to capture the hearts of the mathematically inclined. The story features three princesses instead of one, in addition to four horses, five dogs, six grooms, seven gardeners, and many more opportunities for adding and subtracting to your heart's delight. This is a fun book that would work well as an enhancement to an elementary classroom math lesson while at the same time providing a nice reading adventure. Librarian review

Librarian review
