The Aurora County All-Stars are a baseball team in a very small town. So small that they only get to play one game a year. House Jackson has been waiting a long time for his chance to play. Last year, he broke his arm in a ridiculous accident with Frances Schotz. So when House finds out that Frances is about to ruin his chance to play again, he decides he has to stop it. But how? How, when every mom in town wants her kids in the pageant Frances is planning instead of on the diamond? Help comes from a surprising source, the town's old crackpot Mean-Man Boyd. Librarian review

This book meant a lot to me. It meant to me that deep dark secrets can't stop their desire to keep moving forward, or what they were doing, playing ball. After I read the book it urged me to step outside and do what the Aurora County All-Stars do best, play baseball.

If you want to laugh and giggle then Dancing in the Wings is the book for you. It is full of adventure, comfort, dance. Sassy is a girl who loves to dance but she can't because she is taller then all the boys in her dance class.Sassy gets mad because she has long legs, and big feet. She has problems because she gets teased. My opinion is that Sassy shouldn't have to feel bad, she's beautiful in her own way. You should read this book because it is a book that will make you think twice about yourself.

Back in 1958, football was not as popular as it is today. In fact most people watched baseball instead. When the New York baseball Giants move to San Francisco, Sam's pop says he'll never watch another game at Yankee Stadium. When Sam manages to get tickets to the football championship, his father agrees to go. That one special game is enough to convince fans everywhere that football is just as cool as baseball.

Everyone who roots for the Sluggers knows they will never win it all. After all, the team is cursed. For the last 108 years, fans have watched the Sluggers lose in incredibly weird ways. But Danny Gurkin has faith. Every move he makes is designed to help his team win. Don't step on any cracks, always have two hot dogs with everything, make sure all the windows are closed, make Mom wash the dishes again, anything that will help the Sluggers win. When Danny finds some magic gum, he thinks the Sluggers' problems are over. But at least one person doesn't want the Sluggers to win, and he'll do anything he can to stop them. Librarian review

This is the best book I ever read. I wish there was a sequel! I loved Danny Gurkin and his adventures. The characters are so cool, from the enormous bubblegum tycoon to the evil Diamond Bob Honeysuckle III. I am a big baseball fan and I am very very superstitious. I have always wished I could do what Danny does (which, without giving away the book, is to use this secret gum to help his team win!) Anybody who loves baseball has to read this book, and even if you don't you will love all the crazy stories.

While Ty suffers, his sister Daisy rides the bench, keeping statistics. She could play, really well, but she refuses to let Dad bully her. Then one game, Ty snaps. He is sick of standing out, sick of being the goat. Now all he has to do is tell his father... Librarian review
