Odd and the Frost Giants
Neil Gaiman (2009) , 117 pages
Odd is a little odd. That does not really bother him, but it bothers the people in Odd's village. They can never tell what he is thinking or feeling. Ever since his dad died and his mom married Fat Elfred, Odd spends all the time he can in the forest. It is only in the winter that Odd is forced to stay home. So one year, when spring never comes, Odd sets off to see what is going on. He meets a bear, and fox and an eagle. Not only can these animals talk, but they are really gods. They need help stealing back Asgard, the land of the gods. When the Frost Giants tricked Loki and stole Thor's hammer, they also stole the summer. It is up to Odd to return both Asgard and the summer. Reviewed by Lisa
