When Tom finds a ghost in his cellar he is understandably freaked out. He is only slightly relieved when the well-known ghosthunter Hetty Hyssop tells him he is dealing with an ASG. An ASG is only an "averagely spooky ghost." When Hetty sends Tom back into the cellar to banish the ghost, Tom discovers that the ghost has its own sad story to tell. Soon Tom, Hetty, and the ASG are off to tackle the IRG that stole the ASG's perfect home. An IRG is an "incredibly revolting ghost," and they are far more dangerous. Will Hetty and Tom defeat the IRG, or will they be frozen forever?
