How much trouble can a toilet plunger cause? A lot if it is the plunger of destiny and you live in Patience Kansas. Jake Waters can't wait to get out of Patience. The town is slowly dying because of a century old curse. According to the curse, the town will wither away until the scepter of Satan (also known as the plunger of destiny) is returned. This will begin the town's final destruction. When Jake's dad buys the plunger of destiny on eBay, Jake is sure that now, finally, the curse will be completed. But not even Jake can imagine what awful things the curse will wreak on tiny little Patience.
