Services for Parents and Teachers at the Central Library
The Children’s Library has a full-time staff
of 4 librarians. The librarians in the Children’s
Library are specialists available to help the public
in a variety of ways including research, homework help,
book recommendations, and general library information.
In addition to these services, the Children’s
Library offers a few more specialized services.
Library Tours
Visits to the Children’s Library are tailored
to the grade level of the students and typically include
a tour of the Children’s Library and a storytime.
Tours can be arranged by calling
720-865-1306 at least two weeks in advance for reservations.
To arrange tours for grades 6 and up, call 720-865-1312.
Teacher Sets
Librarians at any branch can put together a teacher set of books for you to check out. You can call your local branch library to order a teacher set or use the online e-mail form. We are happy to pull teacher sets for Head Start and preschool programs, teachers or student teachers.
Library Lab
The Library Lab is located on Level Four of the Central
Library building. It is open to middle and high school
students for homework assistance and to adults for word
processing. The hours are 2:30-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday;
2:30-6 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Saturday; and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. School groups are
welcome. Please call 720-865-1363 at least two weeks
in advance to make arrangements for group instruction.

Reader’s
Advisory
The librarians in the Children’s Library are
avid readers of Children’s books. They can recommend
books on any topic for research or just for pleasure.
Also, check out the large collection of booklists on
many topics available in the BookBuzz database, online or in the Library.
Phone-a-Story
Listen to stories from home on the phone! Choose a
story for your age or grade level; story selection ranges
from ages 3- 11. Listen to stories in Spanish, too!
