Lola loves Tuesdays! Tuesdays are wonderful days because every Tuesday Lola and her mommy go to the library. Lola packs her library card and her borrowed library books in her backpack. Then she and Mommy walk together to the library and return their books. Lola loves going to storytime to listen to stories and learn songs. Then she chooses her own books from the children's area and checks them out. After going to the library, Lola and Mommy stop to have a special snack together. Every night when Mommy tucks Lola into bed, she reads a story. Hearing a bedtime story is Lola's favorite way to end the day.

Baby Owl is mad! He knows he is the most fierce and dangerous thing in the forest, but no one else seems to get the picture. Instead of running away, every animal he meets says he is so cute. They even give him hugs! It takes an understanding Mama Owl to make Baby Owl realize that he doesn't mind being cute...sometimes.

This is just a lovely bedtime book that is sure to become a child's favorite. Averbeck's story is sweet and simple and the illustrations done by Tricia Tusa complement the story line beautifully. Alice can't fall asleep unless her room is blue, her favorite color. Her mother lovingly and patiently brings her to sleep with gestures and suggestions that eventually lead to the young girl's drowsiness. Her mother offers her a cup of tea, an extra quilt that's silky soft and warm, lullaby bells that soothe her gently, and finally she turns off the lamplight allowing the light of the moon to bathe the room in a bluish hue. Content at last, Alice falls fast asleep.
