Baby Owl is mad! He knows he is the most fierce and dangerous thing in the forest, but no one else seems to get the picture. Instead of running away, every animal he meets says he is so cute. They even give him hugs! It takes an understanding Mama Owl to make Baby Owl realize that he doesn't mind being cute...sometimes. Librarian review

Now Granny tells Patrick to go to bed and lay his head on a pillow. Again Patrick says he doesn't have a pillow. What?!? This is just a lovely bedtime book that is sure to become a child's favorite. Averbeck's story is sweet and simple and the illustrations done by Tricia Tusa complement the story line beautifully. Alice can't fall asleep unless her room is blue, her favorite color. Her mother lovingly and patiently brings her to sleep with gestures and suggestions that eventually lead to the young girl's drowsiness. Her mother offers her a cup of tea, an extra quilt that's silky soft and warm, lullaby bells that soothe her gently, and finally she turns off the lamplight allowing the light of the moon to bathe the room in a bluish hue. Content at last, Alice falls fast asleep. Librarian review

Felix gets mad at Mama and declares a ban on hugs until Saturday. "No hugs till Saturday!" he declares. Mama can't survive till Saturday without hugs. Can Felix? The dragon illustrations created by Julie Downing are very expressive and are a wonderful enhancement to this delightful story. In the end Felix decides that Mama just has to have a hug at bedtime, and so does he. They decide on a super, special, gigantic monster mash of a hug. Librarian review

I like the book because the bakers poured an egg on Mickey's head. And because Mickey flew in a dough airplane. I also really like the drawings. Mickey falls asleep and has a dream that he is in the oven in the night kitchen. The bakers were worried that they would not have enough milk. Then Mickey got lots of milk in the Milky Way. Then Mickey crows "Cock-A-Doodle-Do!" And then he slid down the Milky Way back to his bedroom.

Bedtime for Bertie is not easy. There's bathing, brushing his teeth, the final glass of water, and of course, the visit to the bathroom. It doesn't stop there for Bertie. Daddy has to race across the carpet with Bertie, he has to play hide-and-seek with him, and read him a bedtime story. It doesn't stop there. Bertie wants to dance too! Will Bertie ever get tired enough to go to bed? Read this story and find out. Librarian review

The little bear awakes from his winter hibernation and sees the moon that attracts him. The moon follows him as he looks at the other Arctic animals that are asleep. The colors used by the artist remind one of the Northern Lights. This story is good for vocabulary development. Do you know where these animals live? Do you know the names of the animals?
