Autumn is here and there is one last seed clinging to the dried up dandelion. The wind blows the seed until it lands and gets covered with snow. Spring comes and the seed begins to sprout, spread, and blossom. The seeds form and the cycle begins anew.

I though it was soothing and relaxing to read. I liked it. Fredrick collected all the sight, sounds and tastes of summer because he would go into the dark cave of winter where it would be dark, cold and snowy and the colors would be washed out. He was able to share with his friends what he had seen, smelled and heard during the summer. At the end he took a bow.

Froggy is excited about going out to play in the snow but he keeps forgetting some piece of clothing. Dressing and undressing wears him out. I like the sound words used in the story - not to mention Froggy's forgotten underwear! This book is the first in a series of Froggy books by Jonathan London.

This is a sweet story about a cub learning about being a bear throughout the seasons by copying his mom. When winter comes, he follows her into the den to hibernate. While specifically leading up to winter, this book is good for learning all the seasons.

Do you know how to do the snow day dance? Once it starts snowing, if you make paper snowflakes in school with your favorite teacher and you wear your pajamas backward and do a special dance that night, the snow might pile up and up and up, and you just may get a free day off from school. There is also an explanation at the back of the book that tells you how snow and snowflakes are formed.
