The Hermit Crab is very shy and doesn't want anyone to notice him. When he finds a new "shell" that looks like a superhero, he doesn't realize how the other crabs and fish will react. A trap drops to the sea floor and traps Flounder. Hermit Crab accidentally comes to the rescue...except nobody knows that it is him inside the superhero shell! Hermit Crab leaves the hero shell behind and goes back to his quiet old shell, where he likes it just fine. This is a really funny story that also shows it is okay not to be the center of attention.

Owen is the fattest kid in school. It wasn't always that way, but things have changed for him recently. Owen has a lot to figure out. Luckily, he's got a near genius IQ, and a knack for inventing things, like a receiver that can pick up TV signals from the past. Well, he's working on that. In the meantime, he's got to figure out who is stealing the Oreos from his lunch, why his sister wants to be called Jeremy, and why a scar-faced boy at school seems to REALLY have it in for him. Owen may be scavenging his past (not to mention demolished buildings) to try to fit the pieces of his life back together, but sometimes you need to look to the present moment to really appreciate what you have.

How do you know which way to go when you feel lost? Many times in life there are lots of choices and the answer may not seem clear. Helping others along the way, the boy in this story learns to follow his own path. This book is very inspiring and fun to read. The pictures are so beautiful I wish I could hang them on my wall as art! This is one of my favorite books of all time.

Spoon's feeling a little blue. Fork, Knife and Chopsticks all lead more exciting lives than him it seems. He can't twirl spaghetti, spread things, or eat exotic foods. Little does he know that Fork, Knife and Chopsticks all appreciate the things Spoon can do. They will never know how great it is to dive into a bowl of ice cream or cereal. A fun story celebrating the special things each of us can do.

I loved - though I hate reading. It didn't let me put it down. It was like I had my eyes taped open and tied the book to my hand. Now I want to read more from Mrs. Trudi Trueit. I checked out her website it is soooo safe. I even emailed her and she emailed back. I was so happy. Now she is my favorite author. I thank the library for showing that book to me.
