Throughout Summer of Adventure, kids wrote and drew about their summer reading experiences and we added them to the display at the Central, Children's Library. Kids read books in the car, at the library and in Minnesota. They found books that surprised them, made them laugh and taught them to tell time. Check out these book favorites from our customers!
This reader included a terrific drawing with their submission of Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH by Robert C. O'Brien. When a baby field mouse falls ill, his mother, the intrepid Mrs. Frisby, must venture forth to save him, in this suspenseful adventure.
We do not know which book about marsupials this young reader loved, but we are fond of Born in the Wild: Baby Mammals and Their Parents by Lita Judge, which includes information about kangaroos and Virginia opposums. Read this book for its friendly, delicate illustrations and clear facts about mammals.
This reader listened to the darkly humorous books, A Series of Unfortunate Events, by Lemony Snicket. Check out the audiobook of The Bad Beginning, the story of the Baudelaire orphans and their dealings with the conniving Count Olaf.
This young reader read Big Nate in Minnesota. Perhaps they read the eBook version? For the relatable tale of Nate, who is given detention slip after detention slip, put a hold on the eBook of Big Nate: In a Class By Himself by Lincoln Peirce.
